Message from our Founder & Executive Director, Vonee Hill, MS, BSW
Hello,
Philadelphia!
If you’ve found your way here, I hope you came with a sense of hope and the strength that’s carried you this far. Whatever you’re facing—whether it’s exhaustion, uncertainty, or feeling like you’ve been holding everything together on your own—please know this: there is help, and there is healing. And you don’t have to walk this road alone.
After nearly 15 years working in child welfare and human services across Philadelphia, I got tired of seeing the same heartbreaking pattern—calls being made to child welfare before families were ever offered real resources to address their challenges. The truth is, child welfare and maternal health are inseparable. Many calls aren’t made because a parent doesn’t care—they’re made because that parent is struggling mentally, emotionally, physically, or financially, and the right support never came soon enough.

For me, this work is personal and professional. My passion as a Black maternal health advocate—and even more so as a human services and child welfare leader—comes from both my own traumatic birth experiences and the lived realities I’ve witnessed for years. I know what it’s like to feel unseen and unheard in moments that matter most. I also know the power of someone showing up for you, believing you, and helping you find a way forward.
That’s why I created Linked Family Services: to be a place where women, children, and families are supported, believed, and cared for from the very beginning—not only after the system is already involved.
Here, we see you. We believe in your potential. And we’re here to walk with you—one step, one resource, and one relationship at a time.
You are welcome here. You belong.
